  • Simon Hatherley
    Simon Hatherley combines running a business with writing and performing poetry. Leaning towards slam style poetry, Simon can often be found performing in pubs, clubs and even on the street. In this interview Simon perfoms several of his poems which vary from nostalgic reminisces of his childhood to politically charged prose. Simon has just started a monthly open mike poetry club which can be found at the Lower Red Lion pub in St Albans.

  • Stephen Mitchell
    2. Stephen Mitchell is the Chair of the Verulam Writers Group based in St Albans. He and his fellow creative writing group members meet every other Wednesday and share their short stories, poetry and screenplays. They have published several collections of their work - details can be found on their website. In this interview, Stephen reads his short story 'Lenny' which explores the relationship between a young boy and his granddad and their shared love of Elvis Presley.

    Clive Parish discovered his love of poetry while completing an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck University. He has written many poems and several short stories. In this interview we hear a poem written to mark Remembrance Sunday about his father who served in the First World War. Clive also explains the background and inspiration for this moving tribute.
